Alright, so... regular expressions. Yeah, they're a thing. Not exactly a full programming language (we know, we know), but they're basically everywhere in modern operating systems doing their whole "describe text patterns" shizzle. Super handy for search & replace & extraction & whatever else you wanna do with text files. They're fast, they're flexible, they're also kind of a pain in the butt to actually understand. • RegexOne is this website that'll hold your hand & walk you through regex at your own speed. No judgment.
• Reggy is a legit app for OS X that lets you write & test regex without screaming into the void. (Mostly.)
• regular-expressions.info is packed with resources & tutorials that actually won't make you wanna flip your desk.
